I Can...............Canoe?

This outdoorsy bookshelf in the shape of a canoe is a
cool piece that I painted black and added faux pine paper on the inside back..............
it will go in a clients home
that is very eclectic and  cabin-ish!! So fun.

*****************************************************************

The base of this table was painted black and the four chairs
were painted golden yellow and antique
rubbed and the others were painted barn red with antique rub......they look real old!

Project in final stages of almost done!

A hutch and buffet, table and 4 chairs are getting a new life..........with a coat of paint!
It was a bit outdated, the color was a dark forest green.
Stay tuned in just a few more days the drawers and handles will be in place.
I think Allison  is going to love it!

Yikes..........how many more days do I have????????????

Okay, welcome to December, the last month of the year and 24 more days until you know who will visit.........although I am pretty good about organizing and staying with the program on time~ somebody put
the days into overdrive!!!!!!!  And it's making me very nervous. Bad NERVOUS.

1. Finish painting my clients kitchen hutch, table and chairs

2. Work some more on the Christmas cards
(insert picture...........oh, that's right right, my photography friend Nancy hasn't taken them yet)

3. Going to a church Christmas program tonight and Dicks work party Saturday night. (OMG, what am
I going to wear to look  young, slim, sexy as those other young, slim and sexy wives??????????)

4. Work on the furniture, work  some more on the Christmas cards..................

5. Make cookies for Dick's work buds..........but, mostly for him!

6. I am going to Austin, Texas, to see my wonderful God Son.........his older sister recently had her
second baby and the Christening is a week before "you know who will visit"............

7. Okay, I am in triple do-do if I don't  get #1-5 done before I go to Texas.

8. Let's pretend I got everything done and  now it is the night before "you know who will visit"

                            Have A Very Merry Christmas

Cyber Monday~ and some of my thoughts...........

I don't really get it............I am active in computer land, because society forced me into it!
No retailer should open on Thanksgiving day, period.
I have participated in the day after Thanksgiving shopping frenzy.
I am a strange one, I like to get out with the mobs and shop this time of year.
If people don't like to wait in line, look and look some more for the perfect parking spot...........then for
heaven sakes  stay home shop on line! Hence the term "Cyber Monday"

Ivy gone by golly!

This is the before picture of one of the paint transformations.............this lady was terrific to work with.
She knew she wanted the white gone and the ivy gone! We decided on a medium dark pecan stain for the
table top and the base and chairs were painted a rich distressed neutral creamy color. It came out beautiful!
 this was an after picture
in her kitchen with the newly painted table and chairs..................

Bite Me Edward..............

I am very aware of the fact that this post has nothing to do with design, re-use, paint colors, home or garden, BUT........................I am a crazy Twilight Series fan and "Breaking Dawn" is previewing in
theatre's around the world this Wednesday at midnight. My tickets were purchased weeks ago.....
Wait a minute......maybe this post does have something to do with the Twilight series!!
This has only to do with Edward Cullen (or if you wish, Robert Pattison who plays the part: The other hotties don't meet my personal requirements!)
He is physically designed quite well.
I am sure he would be happy to be re-used.
He would be handsome in any color.
He could be the resident "vampire" in my home or garden day or night...........

From Gold to New Cool!

Check out the frame. It was very gold and it is very ornate........what a difference some paint can make! It's for a client. I think she is going to love it!

Success is always good!

Shopping at Scott's Antique Market was a great shopping day. Both Sue and Allison found fabulous
things for their  walls! I guided and they decided!
Pounded old metal is hot, hot, hot. It can be falling apart and  in many different shapes. What is wrong with
me I forgot to take a picture to add to this post!
Allison purchased an 7'5"  metal wallart with 8-5x7" openings for pictures, to be hung horizonally.

Time to get ready!

These two planters with christmas trees have gone to  their new home. So now a large gaping hole will be filled with something else that will be a garden or home delight for a customer visiting my booth.......................Stay posted !!!!!

Scott's Antique Market

So working with a few clients and a couple of friends who have needs to "redo" things at the house.
Several of us are going to Scott's Antique Market on Sunday.
One of my friends- who is a client- has a special need as we add and subtract from her home to make it
cool..............
her husband is an outdoorsie type and the bottom line is he is proud of the deerheads hanging in their family room!!!!!! Yikes..................
She is open and ready to move forward...........let's see now, where is the antler cleaner?????

Required: Work one day a month at One of a Kind

I worked my little shift at One of a Kind............that happens to be where I have a booth called "The
Great Escape:" Holidays are getting closer. It does something to women........we have to make everything
pretty and functional and the "need" to just change it around takes over!

That's funny, I don't see any difference in myself...............
Yes, I took a picture of me in the mirror just to see!  Okay back to the store. Things flew out of there
today, chairs, armoires, shelves, Christmas ornaments, and several things sold from my booth!!!!!!! Yipee!

Okay, so I steal an idea from another talented person............

I love this framed window. Saw it done in dark blue, that didn't do much for me.
So I washed mine with a putty color and stenciled each pane with a fleu-de-leu.
It came out terrific.......
The next one I am working on will have old sheet music in the windows.

I gain confidence and more people find out about my new found interest........

Table and chairs........sure. Another satisfied client. And another and so on. It seems that trips to Scotts
Antique market with my friend Marty, Junkin' with my friend Pam and  Craigs List are all becoming my
new passion!!

Karla is the first trustful soul that I practice on!

Debbie, you can paint my dining room chairs! She loved them, and I loved her for it.............and I was off
to the races!

I want a Great Escape

Being a creative sort of person.........I decided to venture into something I had not tried. Painting.
Painting furniture. I found a person, friends are always good ones to start with. They tell you your work
is quite wonderful, even if you have not tweeked it to perfection yet!
